Privacy Policy
What this website knows about you, which is close to nothing, and who else ever sees it.
Last updated 7 September 2026
The short version
This website has no accounts, no sign-up, no forms and no shopping cart. There is nothing here to type your name into, so we do not have your name.
We do not set cookies, we do not run advertising pixels, and we do not sell or share anything with data brokers. What we keep is a count of page views with no identifier attached to it.
The game is a different thing from this website. Buying, installing and playing Pyxole happens on Steam, under Valve's terms and Valve's privacy policy, not ours.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers pyxole.com: the landing page, the changelog and these policy pages. It is written by the team building Pyxole, a 2D pixel-art social sandbox game.
It does not cover the game client, the Steam store page, our Discord server or our social accounts. Those run on other companies' platforms and carry those companies' policies, which are linked further down.
How to reach us
The fastest route is our Discord server, where you can message the team directly.
If you would rather not use Discord, post in the community hub on our Steam page and say what you need. Either channel is enough to make a request about your data, and you do not have to explain why you are asking.
What we collect on this website
Two things, and both are counted rather than identified:
- Server request logs. Our host records the ordinary details every web server records: the page requested, the time, the response code, a truncated network address, the browser's user agent and the referring page. These exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse. We do not build profiles from them.
- Page view counts from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It reports how many people opened a page, roughly where in the world from, and which page sent them. It does not set a cookie, does not fingerprint the browser, and does not follow a visitor to any other website.
There is no third field. No email address, no name, no payment detail and no account of any kind is asked for or stored by this site.
What we do not do
Stated plainly, because a policy that only lists what is collected leaves the interesting half out:
- No advertising or retargeting pixels. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no TikTok pixel.
- No cross-site tracking, and no data sold, rented or handed to a data broker.
- No profiling, no automated decisions and no scoring of any kind.
- No newsletter list, because there is no sign-up form to join one with.
- No session recording or heatmap tool watching what you click.
Links that leave this site
Every button here that says Steam, Discord, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Reddit sends you to a service that is not ours. From the moment the page loads there, that company's privacy policy applies and ours stops.
Worth knowing: a platform can see that you arrived from pyxole.com, and if you are signed in to it, it knows who arrived. That is true of every link on the web, and it is the reason we do not embed those platforms' widgets in the page. Nothing loads from them until you choose to follow a link.
The game, Steam and Discord
Wishlisting, buying, downloading and playing Pyxole all happen through Steam. Valve holds your account, your payment details and your playtime, and Valve's privacy policy governs all of it. We can see aggregate store statistics, such as how many wishlists a region has produced. We cannot see who you are.
Our Discord server is hosted by Discord, and everything you post there is handled under Discord's own policy. Moderators can see your Discord username, your messages in the server and any roles you hold. Leaving the server removes your access, and you can ask a moderator to delete your messages.
If the game ever collects anything itself, that will be disclosed in the game and on its Steam page before it happens, not quietly added here.
Children
This website is not directed at children and asks nobody for their age, because it asks nobody for anything. Steam and Discord both set their own minimum ages and enforce them at the account level.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information through one of our community channels, tell us on Discord and we will delete it.
How long anything is kept
Server logs are held by our host for a short operational window and then rotate out. Analytics figures are aggregate counts with no identifier in them, so there is nothing in that record to attach to a person, and we keep the totals.
Anything you post yourself in a community channel stays until you or a moderator removes it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to a use of it, or to receive a copy. The UK and EU GDPR, Lebanon's Law 81/2018 on electronic transactions and personal data, and a number of US state privacy laws all grant some version of those rights.
You can use them here. In practice the honest answer to most requests will be that this website holds nothing tied to you, and the data you are thinking of sits with Steam or Discord, in which case ask them directly. Where we do hold something, we will act on a request without charging for it.
Our lawful basis for the two things we do collect is legitimate interest: keeping the site online and knowing whether anyone read a page. Neither requires consent because neither identifies you.
Security and where the site is served from
The site is static files served over HTTPS from a content delivery network, with a content security policy that blocks any script, style, font or connection that did not come from our own origin. There is no database behind it and no login to break into.
Serving from a network of edge locations means the files may be cached on a server outside your own country. There is no personal data in them to travel.
Changes to this policy
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a material change is announced on Discord rather than slipped in. The version number in the corner of every page tells you which build of the site you are reading.
